This is an arrangement of the overture from Rossini's well known opera entitled, “The Barber of Seville”. This arrangement remains true to the original form. However the key was was moved up a half step from the original key of E Major to F Major to make the parts more playable for B-flat instruments. The arrangement is scored for 3 B-flat Trumpets and 3 Flugelhorns. The Flugelhorns play the role of the lower voiced instruments from the original score while the Trumpets fill in the brighter sonorities. An E-flat trumpet part is provided as an alternative to the 1st B-flat Trumpet part and is an excellent choice if available.
